1,773 Express Entry candidates invited by Ontario with Tech Experience and CRS Score as low as 435
Recognized as Canada’s Tech center, Ontario has climbed its way up the tech talent rankings with major IT hubs in the cities of Toronto, Ottawa and Waterloo. To meet the growing labour need in the Tech sector, Ontario organized another Tech Draw on Thursday, August 1 and distributed 1,773 invitations to Express Entry candidates with Tech experience and Comprehensive Ranking System scores as low as 435.
It was Ontario’s second Tech Draw since their introduction in early July and issued and a total of 3,396 Express Entry candidates.
Tech draws are conducted through Ontario Human Capital Priorities Stream. Tech draw allows Ontario to search the federal Express Entry pool and invite the eligible candidates to apply for provincial nomination.
While many candidates from IT stream and high CRS scores have already received Canadian Permanent residence through Express Entry, many of the provincial immigration streams offer candidates with lower ranking scores a chance to improve their CRS score and obtain an Invitation to Apply (ITA) for permanent residence.
Who comes under the Tech Draw?
Express Entry candidates, who have received Notification of Interest (NOIs) have work experience in one of these tech occupations:
· Software engineers and designers (NOC 2173)
· Computer programmers and interactive media developers (NOC 2174)
· Database analysis and data administrators (NOC 2172)
· Computer Engineers
· Web designers and developers (NOC 2172)
· Computer and information systems managers (NOC 0213)
To be eligible to participate in the Express Entry System, a candidate does not require any job offer.
