Alberta invites 471 Express Entry candidates with CRS scores as low as 303 to apply for provincial n

With a desire to bring more economic immigrants to Canada the CRS score has been continuously dropping, while the number of invitations (NOIs) has been increasing systematically. Alberta with the issue of its two provincial nomination draws established a chance for the Express Entry candidates planning to migrate to the province of Alberta—Canada’s west-most Prairie Province. In the recent draw the government once again demonstrated its strong commitment of helping the aspiring immigrants to make their way to Canada.
Alberta Immigrant Nominee Program (AINP) conducted two draws in a gap of 1 week. The first draw which was held on July 17 saw 251 Notifications of Interest (NOI) being issued to Express Entry candidates with Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) starting 400. After one week, another draw was held on July 24, where 220 NOIs were issued to candidates with CRS scores as low as 303.
The Alberta Express Entry Stream allows the province of Alberta to search the Federal Express Entry pool for candidates who meet the stream’s eligibility requirement and invite them to apply for permanent residence through the provincial nomination program. Since the first Alberta Express Entry-Stream Selection draw, which took place just over a year ago, the Alberta Immigrant Nominee Program (AINP) has held a total of 26 draws—issuing a total of 5,063 NOIs to the candidates.
Alberta Express Entry Stream eligibility requirement
The first step to be considered under the Alberta Express Entry Stream is to create an online Express Entry profile. Alberta does not have a list of eligible occupations; however, you must hold experience in an occupation that contributes to Alberta’s economic growth and diversification priorities.
The AINP says it may give priority to the candidates with:
· A job offer and/or work experience in Alberta;
· A degree from a Canadian post-secondary institution and a valid job offer;
· A parent, child or sibling already living in Alberta
However, certain factors that decrease the chances of the candidate in receiving the Notification of Interest from Alberta. One among these is the Express entry expiry date of the candidate expiring within 3 months of the draw and the other one is when the candidate’s occupation is listed in Alberta Opportunity Stream Ineligible Occupations List.
Alberta Express Entry Stream
Alberta Express Entry Stream attracts applicants with CRS score which is much below the cut-off score of the recent Federal Express Entry draw, which was 459.
The Express Entry applicants who receive a provincial nomination from the Government of Alberta would obtain an additional point of 600 CRS which increases their chance of getting an invitation from the Government of Canada to register for Canada permanent residence.
